What are the fare options from Midway to Hyatt McCormick Place (2233 S. King Drive) on a Friday morning (around 11:30-12.30 p.m.) for 4 people?

"What's the city doing to improve safety?

This year, there were a total of 4,000 reported ride-sharing-related crashes in Chicago. That is an 8% increase from last year.

In 2016, the City of Chicago launched the first pilot program for Lyft and Uber, called Safety Pilot.

Lyft's Safety Pilot program allows drivers to request a ride with a rating that determines whether or not they are approved for the service. The program is optional and, after a few rides, drivers may opt out. The program was successful and has proven to make it safer for drivers to request rides. In a few years, we hope to expand this model to other cities."

One of the best ways to make your first day in Chicago memorable is to get a taxi. The cab drivers are friendly, and they offer a free international phone number if you need to contact them. Many of the rides will only be a few blocks. The city's historic attractions and great restaurants make it a great city to visit for a first date. No matter what you are doing in Chicago, you should book a taxi, they will make it happen.

Uber in Chicago do more than disrupt personal transportation options. They've worked to break down unnecessary barriers for customers, users, drivers, and towns and cities. By funding and supporting alternatives to traditional transport, Uber's business model ensures that no one is left behind.

Taxi prices in Chicago are still on par with New York, but with the extra inches in the seat, you'll pay a bit more. Regardless, you're going to need some form of public transportation to get from one place to another, and a luxury taxi would fall into the wrong category.

Chicago taxi drivers are furious about a bill passed by lawmakers that will expand their ability to unionize and seek higher wages, increase safety and improve employment conditions. They say the measure, called the Taxicab Authority Franchise Act, will make an already onerous business environment even more difficult.

Chicago taxi drivers usually must use these red cab meters when they go out on their shifts. For the first time, customers are getting the convenience of getting a cab meter for free with the swipe of a cell phone.

Taxi prices in Chicago are the highest in the U.S., even as income has remained flat for the past few years. In Chicago, as in most of the United States, the typical professional driver is earning twice as much now as he was ten years ago. With lower incomes leading to more expensive rent, some city dwellers are taking personal vehicles into their vehicles for work and pleasure. Chicago has some of the most expensive rental insurance in the nation, where average rates can total more than $4,000 per year. These costliest drivers include students in college and ex-prisoners taking advantage of the rental car discount programs offered by several utilities. Some regular Chicago drivers, however, fear paying for their own personal car insurance because of the high rates.

Uber rates in Chicago vary by location and may vary by size, but the company recommends two to four hours in total before you ask for a lift. As for spending time in the car, Uber offers a credit for tax refunds. In Chicago, Uber drivers generally do their best to help the traveler make the best possible deal by creating a relationship with the passenger. For example, if the driver has a cute puppy in the backseat, he or she may approach the passenger and ask for some photos and a few words of advice. Or, if the passenger wants to help, the driver may tell the passenger about the trip or ask the passenger if he or she has any urgent business to run.
